Find what you fear – and move toward that thing.
There comes a time in your life when you will have decided the things your are good at, and the things you are not. And, generally, your mind won’t be changed about those things. Which is really too bad. Because, it means that you are already limiting your self and what you are able to accomplish. One of the most valuable lessons we can learn about ourselves is that the things that we fear are often the things that hold the most possibility for us.
If you want to learn how to overcome your fear, you should find the things that you are most afraid of and move toward those things.
Are you afraid of speaking in public? Great. Go do more of it.
Shy? Great. Go to a networking event.
Please understand that I am not saying that you should hurt yourself or do things that could actually harm you. I’m saying that we often grow a little too comfortable with avoiding things we are afraid of, and consequently, we find that we stop growing!
What you fear is an indication of where opportunities are present for you. All you have to do is move toward that fear.
And, you know what many of us find out? It really isn’t that scary after all.
What is something that you have avoided or convinced yourself that you are not good at? What would it take for you to try again?
